Our Jewellers

Jack Pawlowski

A European-trained Master Jeweller with 50 years of experience and devotion to the industry is the founder of The Blue Pearl Gallery in Akaroa.

“During my varied career, I have had the pleasure of many inspiring commissions, as well as working as a designer for the largest jewellery company in Europe - Pierre Lang - in Vienna, Austria; I have been able to pass on this wealth of craftsmanship as a teacher [in Poland].”

New Zealand has been home to Jacek since 1986, where he pursued his unrelenting passion for jewellery through an inaugural boutique store and workshop not long after arriving in this beautiful country. Jacek's wife Ilona and two daughters are also very much part of the business. The entire family spend their days running the Blue Pearl Gallery on the Main Wharf in Akaora, Banks Peninsula.“In 2000 I met Roger Beattie, the force behind Eyris Blue Pearls. We have worked closely together ever since. The Blue Pearl Gallery brings the pearls to life through custom design and hand-crafted jewellery pieces."

Jacek employs and mentors dedicated jewellers. They help him to create the extensive range of diverse and beautiful jewellery pieces you find within the Gallery's ever-expanding collection.

Kazimierz Pucia

Kazimierz trained as an artist in Zakopane, Poland, and apprenticed under Jack to learn the jewellery trade.

“Kaz adds the necessary link. It's good to have someone with an artist's background on the team because he has a tireless imagination."

Jacek and Kaz combined have decades of jewellery experience between them, which goes into each and every piece they craft. This wealth of experience together with the value of their dedication makes them a priceless combination.

Some of their professional highlights include:
